Assistant GC credits wealth of experiences for career success
Being trapped has never been a problem for Michele Schoeppe ’96. Her current occupation as an assistant general counsel for the American Chemistry Council and her previous positions with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and the American Petroleum Institute have given her a breadth of experiences.
Schoeppe’s work for the American Chemistry Council is diverse. Reading, writing, and researching are part of her everyday tasks.

’08 grad represents clients in immigration cases
To many of his clients, Ryan Muennich ’08 serves as the only lifeline in their fight to continue pursuing their American dream, and it is not something the 30-year-old immigration attorney takes lightly. Once he gets a call from a potential client seeking immigration assistance, Muennich immediately jumps into research mode. All facts and cases are reviewed ahead of time.
“Some attorneys may not want to do that type of research until they’re actually retained. But I’ve found that doing it beforehand makes me more knowledgeable about the case, and I can really explain things to the potential client in a clearer way,” Muennich said. “A really high percentage of people that I have consultations with end up hiring me, in part, because I’m prepared to discuss their issue in detail.” ››Read more

Justice Stratton’s 10 tips for success
Before retiring from the bench at the end of 2012, Ohio Supreme Court Justice Evelyn Lundberg Stratton ’79 shared her 10 tips for success for law students and new attorneys.
Stratton, who is the subject of an upcoming article in the next issue of the alumni magazine All Rise, is pursuing advocacy work on behalf of the mentally ill and veterans in the court system. ››Read more

 Yvette McGee Brown '85 has joined Jones Day as a partner in its Columbus office. McGee Brown is a former Ohio Supreme Court justice and will be part of the firm's litigation group. “If you spend any time with Yvette, you see pretty quickly what an incredible leader she is,” said Elizabeth P. "Liza" Kessler '93, partner in charge of the Columbus office. “I’m so excited about the chance to practice with her. We’re in the talent business and anytime we see an individual with great talent and we have the opportunity to get them, we go.”
 Sean Michael Boone '12 and Jillian Wolosiansky '12 married Nov. 17, 2012. The couple lives in Lancaster, Ohio. Wolosiansky is a staff attorney for the Honorable Richard E. Berens in the Fairfield Court of Common Pleas. Boone works for criminal defense attorney James Mayer III in Mansfield.
