Corporate Fellowship Program Continues to Grow
The Moritz Corporate Fellowship Program, an innovative initiative launched in January 2011 that places new Moritz graduates in the general counsel offices of leading corporations, continues to add companies to its list of participants. This year, American Electric Power, Broadstreet Capital Partners, Inc., DSW, Kroger, Nationwide Insurance, the National Retail Federation in Washington, D.C., Procter & Gamble, and The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company have, or will be, hiring recent Moritz grads. The fellowships, which follow the judicial clerkship model, match the specific needs of each corporate partner while putting recent graduates' top-flight training and ability to immediate use inside the legal departments of major companies. ››Learn More

Moot Court Teams Earn Top Honors
This year, the Moritz College of Law sent 17 traveling moot court and lawyering skills teams to compete throughout the country.

PILF Auction Raises More Than $30k for Moritz Students
Each spring, the entire Moritz community takes a break from studying and work to support an important cause. Moritz students, alumni, faculty, and staff grab their bidding paddles and head to the Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) Auction. The auction raises money for law students interested in pursuing public interest summer positions. Faculty members Doug Berman, Art Greenbaum, and Deborah Merritt served as auctioneers, and Greenbaum, along with Garry Jenkins, served as faculty advisors and board members.
Items included Ohio State apparel, art and entertainment tickets, restaurant gift certificates, vacation rentals, and, of course, dinners and outings with professors. ››View Photos

The Ohio Ethics Commission voted April 28 to appoint Paul M. Nick '90 as its permanent Executive Director. Nick has served as the Interim Executive Director since January and has been the Commission’s Chief Investigative Attorney since 2000.
Shawna L. L'Italien '96, a Salem business attorney and member in the law firm of Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, Ltd., received the Ohio State Bar Foundation's District 13 2011 Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under. The award recognizes L'Italien's work with local non-profit organizations, including Salem Community Hospital, the Columbiana County Mental Health Clinic, United Community Scholarship Foundation and Salem Kiwanis.
