Carol Seubert Marx '79 wears many hats, sporting each one with pride, dedication, and passion. In addition to being a wife (Gregg Marx '79), mother of two, and solo practitioner, she is committed to professional and community service — her two greatest passions.

Alumnus Carl D. Smallwood Honored with University's Distinguished Service Award
Carl Smallwood ’80 has distinguished himself for leadership in advancing diversity in the Columbus legal community as well as supporting Ohio State by giving generously of his time, advice, and resources in advancing diversity at his alma mater. For those reasons, Smallwood was recognized March 21 as a University Distinguished Service Award winner.

Karim A. Ali ’03 was recently promoted to senior associate at Porter Wright Morris & Arthur in the firm’s Columbus office. Ali’s practice includes real estate law, various types of business transactions, and corporate governance. Ali also serves as a board member of Directions for Youth & Families and has been named an Ohio “Rising Star” in both Law & Politics and Super Lawyers.
Robert Briggs ’66 was named chairman of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Briggs became a Knight Foundation trustee in 2002 and served as vice chair from 2005 until his appointment as chair elect in March 2009. Briggs is the president of the GAR Foundation in Akron, Ohio, and chairman emeritus and former CEO of Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs. ››More Alumni News ››Submit News
