Three 3Ls from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law will advance to the finals in the National Moot Court Competition in New York City, having successfully won a regional competition held in Detroit Nov. 10-11.
Rees Alexander, Andrea Green, and Justin Tillson were the winning team members. In addition, Alexander was named Best Oralist at the regional competition, held at the University of Detroit Mercy. Another Moritz team, 3Ls Branden Albaugh, Shea Gordon, and Sean Wright, advanced to the quarterfinals before being eliminated in a close decision.
The team is coached by Mary Beth Beazley, associate professor of law and director of legal writing.
The New York City Bar Association and the American College of Trial Lawyers have sponsored the National Moot Court Competition since 1950. This nationally recognized competition allows students to hone their appellate advocacy skills by arguing before prominent members of the legal profession.
