| Retirement Doesn’t Stop Corlett '68 |
When Glenn Corlett '68 returned to his alma mater Ohio University in 1996, he was looking for an opportunity to do something new. At the time, he had recently ended his tenure as the executive vice-president and chief operating officer for N.W. Ayer & Partners, an international advertising agency based in New York.
"There was a lot of consolidation in the advertising industry at that time, and we decided to sell the agency," he said. "I considered retirement, but I wanted to do something else. What I really wanted to do was teach." (Read More) |

Business law courses at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law are being expanded each semester, and this fall will be no different. The Ohio State University Entrepreneurial Business Law Journal's 2008 symposium "Marry Me and Make Me Rich: Franchise Law in the 21st Century" will feature expert panelists from the legal practice, business sector, and academia presenting their insights on the current status of franchise law in the United States and abroad.
Speakers will focus on both federal and international franchise law, business, and economic implications of regulation, and considerations regarding the contractual relationships between franchisors and franchisees. The symposium will provide attorneys with an understanding of the intricacies and recent developments in the business and law of franchising. CLE credit has been requested.

| Robin Rader '84 Using Legal Background As Prison Chaplain |
Some Ohio State University Moritz College of Law alumni are prosecutors, fighting to send guilty criminals behind bars. Others are defense attorneys, working to keep their clients from going to prison. But there's another role that at least one Moritz alumna plays in the process. Robin Rader ’84 is a chaplain at the Ohio State Penitentiary, where she consoles and tends to the spiritual needs of hundreds of the state’s prisoners. (Read More) |
| PILF Spring Auction & Gala is March 27 |
The Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) will be hosting its annual Spring Auction & Gala on March 27th at the Longaberger Alumni House (2200 Olentangy River Road). Each year, PILF organizes an Auction to raise funds for the PILF summer fellowship program. Most public interest organizations and government agencies are unable to pay summer legal interns, but these same organizations rely on student work to help them serve thousands of clients and to work on pressing public interest issues. | 2L Michael Jackson Finds Comfort in Columbus |
While participating on the award-winning Middle Tennessee State University's Mock Trial team, Michael Jackson fell in love with at least two things.
Michael, now in his second year at The Ohio State University's Moritz College of Law, first learned that he wanted to be an attorney. "I just really like the thrill of having to think on your feet," he said. "I liked the theatre of it all on the mock trial team; it's the Perry Mason effect, I guess." (Read more) |
