Message from Interim Dean Michaels

Alan C. MichaelsDear Alumni and Friends:

By now you have probably heard that our dean, Nancy Rogers, has been appointed by the governor as Ohio Attorney General.  This is a great honor for her, but an even greater boon to the state of Ohio.  We at the College of Law are very proud of her.  Dean Rogers will serve as the state’s top lawyer through November and will then return to Moritz as Professor Rogers to continue teaching in our alternative dispute resolution program.

The provost asked me to serve as interim dean and saying yes was easier than accepting an offer for Ohio State-Michigan football tickets.  Under Dean Rogers’ leadership, an incredible feeling of momentum has been created at Moritz: we are attracting the most highly credentialed incoming classes in our history; we are recruiting top notch faculty, often competing with other leading schools; our alumni support is outstanding; and many new programs are being initiated. We are poised and ready to continue and expand these efforts, and I am excited and honored about my role in doing so.

I look forward to meeting many of you at our upcoming alumni events, tailgates, and reunions.  I encourage you to stay in touch and stay involved.  As I can surely attest to, you never quite know what surprises your career will bring you.

Best regards,

Alan C. Michaels
