| Professors Shane, Swire Named to Obama-Biden Transition Teams |
The Obama-Biden Presidential Transition Project has named two professors at Moritz to assist in a review of government agencies designed to provide the president’s advisors with information they will need to begin making strategic policy, budgetary, and personnel decisions.
Peter M. Shane, the Jacob E. Davis and Jacob E. Davis II Chair in Law, and Peter Swire, C. William O'Neill Professor in Law and Judicial Administration, have both joined “agency review teams” charged with advising the incoming administration.

Time is running out to take advantage of the Graham/Reese Challenge 2, which will match new and increased gifts to the Law Annual Fund up to $5,000 per donor.
Due to the overwhelming success of the first Graham/Reese Challenge, Jim Graham '52 and Gib Reese '52 have extended their generosity for this second installment of the challenge. As with the first challenge, Jim and Gib are asking fellow alumni and friends of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law to make a gift to the Annual Fund.

Kathy O’Brien ’75: In-House Expertise at Limited Brands |
Spending her entire career working as an in-house attorney for several companies, Kathy O’Brien ’75 has only represented one client at a time. But those clients have exposed her to countless challenges, opportunities, and experiences.
She currently is vice president of regulatory compliance at Limited Brands in Columbus. “You work for the same corporate client, but you have many individual customers,” she said. “One day you are working with R&D and the next day you are discussing product claims with Marketing. You support a wide range of internal departments with different responsibilities - all working toward a common goal. It is fascinating because every day presents new challenges and you never have to look far for clients. They are all around you.”

Barron Henley ’93: Finding his Legal Niche in Legal Technology Consulting |
Barron Henley ’93 is a firm believer in the idea that technology is changing the legal profession. “Computers won’t replace lawyers,” he said. “But lawyers who use computers will replace those who don’t.”
That belief led Henley to found HMU Consulting, Inc., a company that is specialized in advising law firms on any technology questions that may arise. “We know what works, we know what doesn’t work,” said Henley, who is president and co-founder.
“People don’t want wishy-washy recommendations and they don’t want a list a pros and cons. The comment I get the most is, ‘just tell me what works!’” (Read More) |

Some leaders are easily recognizable. Raphael Davis-Williams is one of them.
He’s one of those people you want to talk to when he walks into a room. He’s got a cheery grin, warm personality, and unassuming manner. He’s a genuine, nice person with lofty aspirations.
As one of the oldest members of Moritz’s Class of 2010, Raphael has already led a successful career as a broadcast journalist in cities around the country, including Orlando, Fla.; San Antonio, Texas; Montgomery, Ala.; Waco, Texas; and Houston, Texas. (Read More) |
