Yvette McGee Brown '85 Honored with Public Service Award

From her time on the bench of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas—Domestic Relations Division to her current leadership of the Center for Child and Family Advocacy, Yvette McGee Brown '85 has focused her personal and professional life on the care and well-being of children and families. For Estate Planning, In Karen Moore '75 We Trust

As a law student, Karen Moore '75 tucked away a nugget of wisdom offered by Professor Morgan Shipman during one of his Securities classes. He said, “If you like tax and you like property, you might enjoy estate planning.” Over thirty years later, as partner and chair of Bricker & Eckler's Tax, Trusts and Estates Department, she finds herself providing this invaluable service to her professional colleagues and her community. Craig Byrnes '99: Achieving Access and Fairness for Californians

Craig Byrnes '99 (pictured here with son Aaron) founded his solo practice in Los Angeles with the goal of advocating for people who have been wronged. He works tirelessly to vindicate clients who have experienced discrimination in both the employment and housing spheres. His motivation comes from the fact that, "I'm able to do the work that I'm most passionate about." (Read More)

Eric Nixdorf '93 Gets Down to the Business of Practicing Law

Despite only 14 years separating today from the days when Eric Nixdorf '93 roamed the halls of what is now the Moritz College of Law, his impressive resume reads like one that would describe the career of an attorney twice his age. After successfully managing his own California consumer tax firm and real estate business, Eric has set his sights on a new goal: educating lawyers about the business aspects of law practice. Lisa Page '06: Living Her Dream

Lisa Page '06 always knew that she wanted to pursue a career in public service, and she figured that the path to her ideal job would be a winding one. As a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Department of Justice, however, she skipped the scenic route and moved immediately from law school to her dream career.
