| Mark D. Wagoner '97 to be Honored as Outstanding Recent Alumnus October 15 |
Mark
D. Wagoner '97 is always on the run. Be it running the Student Bar
Association as president at Moritz or running successfully for the
Ohio Legislature, he is a young man in motion and not anxious to slow
down anytime soon. He will be honored as the Moritz Outstanding Recent
Alumnus for 2005 at the October 15 OSU v. Michigan State tailgate,
to be held at the recently-opened Barrister
Club. All alumni are invited

| Reunions and Tailgates Jump-Start Football Season at the Barrister Club |
The
classes of 1955, 1980 and 1995 were the first to have their reunion
celebrations at the College's Barrister Club, part of the new South
Campus Gateway created this fall along the High Street corridor. They
were joined by alumni and friends of all ages for tailgates after
the San Diego State and Iowa games. If you'd like to attend our Michigan
State, Illinois or Northwestern tailgates at the Club, click

| Election Law @ Moritz Conference Draws Experts on Election Administration |
On
September 9 & 10, 2005, Election
Law @ Moritz brought together some of the nation's most distinguished
experts in the field of election law to discuss partisanship in the
running of elections. (Pictured at right is Commissioner Ray Martinez
III of the Election Assistance Commission.) Entitled "Independent
Election Administration: Who Draws the Lines, and Who Counts the Votes?,"
the conference had a dual focus on both the processes by which political
district boundaries are drawn, and the officials who oversee the conduct
of our elections. In addition to EL@M faculty, more than a dozen other
election law experts from around the country presented at the conference.

| Moritz Sweeps OSU Alumni Association Awards |
Of the eight awards given by the OSU Alumni Association for 2005, Moritz alumni won in half the categories. We applaud this special recognition of their contributions: Matt A. Mayer '97 for the William Oxley Thompson Award for early career achievement; Michael E. Flowers '79 (pictured at left with past and present Alumni Association Presidents Dan Heinlen and Archie Griffin) for Professional Achievement; Erin F. Moriarty '77 for the Dan L. Heinlen Award for university advocacy; and Susan E. Brown '71 for the Ralph Davenport Mershon Award for leadership and service to the university. Learn more about the awards and our winners. |
