| Former Constitutional Court of South Africa Justice and Chief Prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunals for Rwanda and the Former Yugoslavia to Speak at Hooding |
When South Africa sought truth and reconciliation in the wake of Apartheid, he provided leadership. When the atrocities of Rwanda and Yugoslavia called for justice, he led the prosecution. When the international community called for accountability in the U.N. Oil for Food program, he helped lead the investigation. He is the Hon. Richard J. Goldstone, formerly of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and currently the Henry Shattuck Visiting Professor at Harvard Law School. He will speak at the 2005 Moritz Hooding Ceremony on May 13. | OSBA to Honor Frank Ray '73 at May 12 Moritz Alumni Gathering |
The
Ohio State Bar Association will honor Frank Ray '73 for his outstanding
contributions to legal education in Ohio during the Moritz alumni
gathering at the OSBA Annual Meeting at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus.
Frank was selected for the OSBA's 2005 "Friend of Legal Education
Award" on the basis of his work as an adjunct professor and his leadership
in creating a state-of-the-art moot courtroom at Ohio State, as well
as his sustained service to the bar. "By force of personality and
talent, he has done much to bridge the gap between the legal profession
and the academy," says Moritz Dean Nancy Rogers. (learn

Dale Oesterle at the April 22 Third-Year Send-Off where his selection

| Thomas Emswiler '82: Securing the Future for Federal Employees |
As the debate about Social Security reform dominates the news, a small government agency runs a federal retirement program that some politicians hold up as an example of what could be done with Social Security. Thomas Emswiler '82 serves as associate general counsel for the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, created in 1986 to administer the Thrift Savings Plan, the optional retirement account for federal employees that some cite as a model for social security reform.
