| 2005 Hooding Ceremony Honors Alumni Old and New |
More than 200 graduates and their family and friends were on hand
Friday, May 13 at the historic Ohio Theatre to participate in the
hooding ceremony that memorializes the transition from student to
professional. Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio Thomas J.
Moyer '64 was honored with the William K. Thomas Distinguished Jurist
Award and Professor Dale Oesterle earned outstanding honors from the

| Senator George V. Voinovich '61 Honored by Slovenian President |
U.S.
Senator George V. Voinovich '61 received the Decoration of the Golden
Order of Merit of the Republic of Slovenia for his "personal contributions
and deeds that have contributed to the international standing of the
Republic of Slovenia." Voinovich was presented with the award by Slovenian
President Janez Drnovsek during an official ceremony at Brdo Castle,
which was attended by 50 members of the Slovenian government and members
of Voinovich's family who live in Slovenia. (learn

| Daniel Slane '67 to Head OSU Board of Trustees |
Moritz
alumnus Daniel M. Slane '67, founder and co-owner of The Slane Company,
Ltd., was named chair of The Ohio State University Board of Trustees
in May. A successful businessman, attorney, and former presidential
advisor, Dan will lead a board of 11 trustees responsible for oversight
of academic programs, budgets and general administration, and employment
of faculty and staff of Ohio's premier university. (learn

| Joe Koncelik '93 Appointed Ohio EPA Director |
It
may seem an ideal fit now, but Joseph Koncelik '93 (pictured left
with wife Amy Litkovitz Koncelik '95) didn't always envision a career
in environmental law, let alone envision himself overseeing the massive
state agency charged with protecting the state's air, land and water
resources. But his January 2005 appointment by Gov. Taft to head Ohio
EPA clearly reflects someone who has found his stride. (learn
