a student, Philomena "Mimi" Dane and her classmates were troubled
by the fact that economic factors discouraged many from choosing public
interest law as a full-time profession, a concern shared by the faculty
and college administration. Together, they sowed the seeds for the
Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP), which helps Moritz graduates

This fall, Dean Nancy Rogers created the Founder's Award to commemorate the physical and intellectual legacy of former Dean Francis X. Beytagh. The award is reserved for those individuals who make a significant and extraordinary contribution to the College. | JDR Symposium Focuses on Resolving Identity-Based Conflict |
On January 26, 2006, interdisciplinary scholars from around the world will convene in Columbus, Ohio to participate in a symposium entitled "Listening to the World: New Ideas for Resolving Identity-Based Conflict." The symposium will explore the dilemma faced by society when traditional mechanisms such as courts, administrative agencies, and political processes leave significant conflicts related to race, ethnicity, religion, and class unaddressed. The event is hosted by the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution in collaboration with a new research initiative entitled "The Bridge Initiative @ Mershon and Moritz: New Ideas for Bridging Divided Communities."
