Bob Reeder '84 and David Braff '84: Sharing a Pro Bono Passion
They had no idea when they met as Moritz students in 1981
that they would be lucky enough to spend their entire professional
careers together, rising to partners in one of the world's
most respected firms. Throughout the years, David Braff '84
and Bob Reeder '84 have shared both a rich friendship
and a deep passion: commitment to public service. (learn

Elizabeth Kliesch '98: Living the Dream
Liz Kliesch, '98, left with partner Tom Ainger, sums
up her home of the last five years by the daily scenes outside
her office window. Overlooking the St. Thomas harbor and
its waterfront, she watches small seaplanes come and go,
and glimpses large commercial airliners over the crest of
a hill a short distance away. She sees historic Fort Christian,
built in the 1670s, standing near the Virgin Islands Legislature
building. With St. Thomas' 60,000 residents, it is a mix
of small town and big city. Add the gentle trade winds, and
Liz is living the dream. (learn

Thomas Hodson '73: Answering the Question "What's Next for Now"
Lawyer, judge, and journalist, Thomas Hodson '73 has
just completed his first year as director of Ohio University's
E.W. Scripps School
of Journalism,
consistently ranked among the top five J-schools in the nation.
His seemingly circuitous professional path has been guided
by his mentor's advice: always look for what's
next. (learn

battered women, Moritz Law honors her service and provides

Youngstown's New Bankruptcy Judge, Kay Woods '81, Takes Oath of Office
As their names were called one by one, 19 present and former
federal judges walked to the front of the courtroom and seated
themselves, occupying every chair except for one situated
at the far right. By the end of the August 16 event, that
seat was filled by the Honorable Kay Woods '81, the
new United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District
of Ohio. Judge Woods, far left, was welcomed by her predecessor
and Moritz alumnus, the former Judge William T. Bodoh '64.
