| Dan Sandman '73 Named 2004 Moritz Distinguished Alumnus |
Within 13 years of graduation from Moritz, Dan Sandman was
elected general counsel and secretary for Marathon Oil. Seven
short years later he was elected general counsel and secretary
of USX, better known as U.S. Steel, the largest integrated
steel producer in the United States. His competence is eclipsed
only by his caring, as evidenced by the many friends who attended
the September 11 New Orleans Jazz Tailgate to celebrate as
Dean Nancy Rogers presented Dan with the 2004 Moritz Distinguished
Alumnus Award. (learn more) |

| Greg Vincent '87 Named Vice Provost at University of Oregon |
Greg Vincent's '87 epiphany came early in his career after
winning a decision for the Ohio Civil Rights Commission before
the Supreme Court of Ohio. "It was a defining moment for me,"
says Greg, "I realized I wanted to focus my career on preventing
discrimination rather than litigating cases in the courts
after the discrimination had already occurred." Today he is
doing just that as the newly appointed vice provost for Institutional
Equity and Diversity at the University of Oregon. (learn
