Moritz Law Grads Lead in Bar Passage
Moritz graduates had the highest pass rates among the nine law schools in Ohio for both first-time takers and all takers on the July 2003 bar examination.
Here are the stats:
- First-time takers: OSU 92%; next highest was the University of Cincinnati with 87%. The overall pass rate was 81%.
- All takers: OSU 89%; next highest was the University of Cincinnati with 86%. The overall pass rate was 73%.
The statewide pass rates are 3% higher this year than for the July 2002
examination, though still lower than before the Court raised the required passing score a few years ago. On the July 2002 exam, 78% of first-time takers and 70% of all takers passed. OSU grads had the highest pass rates in July 2002 also -- 90% of first-time takers and 87% of all takers.
The oath will be administered during a special public session of the Supreme Court that will be held at The Ohio Theatre, 39 East State Street, in Columbus, on Monday, November 10, 2003, at 2:00 P.M.
