| PILF: Changing the World - One Client at a Time |
"When people with mental disabilities participate
in Special Olympics, the community takes pride in their achievement.
But when the same people need housing, job opportunities or
special education, the reality is that they often encounter
barriers and discrimination," according to Carolina
Legal Assistance (CLA). CLA's goal is to empower
and advocate for people with mental disabilities and they
are fueled by committed attorneys and equally dedicated summer
volunteers like Moritz 2L Anita Klagge (pictured at left).
She and 18 other Moritz law students spent their summers changing
the world thanks to the support they received from the Public
Interest Law Foundation (PILF). It's not too late to
support next summer's students and the clients they
serve. (Learn more) |
