| RonNell Jones '00 Begins Clerkship with U.S. Supreme Court Justice O'Connor |
This July 14, RonNell Jones '00 will take her place among the brightest legal minds in the country. It will be her first day as one of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor's law clerks. A keen intellect and a Moritz legal education earned RonNell (pictured at right with son Max) one of only 35 judicial clerkships available annually with the highest court in the land. She will serve during a landmark term with the consensus-building, swing-voting, centrist justice some describe as the Court's most influential. (Learn More) |
| Gene Crawford '03 Wins National Writing Competition |
What began during a conversation with Professor Douglas Whaley ended with an award ceremony in the Great Hall of the Library of Congress on June 17. Gene Crawford, a 2003 graduate of the College, was one of only 10 law students nationwide to receive the 2003 Burton Award. He is the latest in a series of Moritz students to win national writing honors. (Learn more) |
| Yvette McGee Brown '85 Leads Innovative Program Destined to Become National Model for Combating Family Violence |
As president of the new Center for Child and Family Advocacy at Children's Hospital, Yvette McGee Brown '85 will guide a community-wide effort to end the devastating cycle of child abuse and family violence in Columbus. Thought to be the first of its kind in the nation, an unprecedented partnership led by Yvette will take a holistic approach to family violence in a new facility that will house investigation, assessment, treatment, and prosecution of child abuse services under one roof. | Alumna Assumes New Director of Enrollment Services Post |
As it turns
out, Mother did know best when she encouraged Kelly Bott '98
(at left, receiving Order of the Coif honors from Dean Nancy
Rogers) to pursue a career in student services. Eleven years
and two careers later, Kelly saw the wisdom of her Mother's
advice and returned to Moritz this June as the College's
new Director of Enrollment Services. In her new post, Kelly
hopes to utilize technology to streamline enrollment and grade
reporting activities and provide more academic advising to Moritz
