Morris & Arthur in Columbus, how he got started performing
magic, he might well answer you with a story, maybe even a
tall tale. It might not be historically accurate, but it will
entertain you. This consummate showman plays it to the hilt,
but he won't offer you the blueprint for how he makes his
magic. After all, it's not knowing how he does it that keeps

| Professor Mary Ellen O'Connell: Working in the Interest of International Law |
"Mary Ellen O'Connell developed her scholarly interest
in the issues of war and peace as a result of the Vietnam
War. She has sought throughout her career to contribute to
international law – especially the law of peaceful settlement
of disputes and the law aimed at mitigating excesses in war.
Today, as the William
B. Saxbe Designated Professor of Law, she continues this
effort through teaching, scholarship, and service. (Learn more) |
| OSBA Honors Jim Lawrence '65 as Friend of Legal Education |
Jim Lawrence '65 spreads the gospel of mediation and negotiation
with missionary zeal in the profession and the academy. Every
summer since 1995, he has taken a week from his busy practice
to teach a one-credit, week-long course in negotiation at
the Moritz College of Law at Ohio State. For more than 25
years, Jim has been an adjunct professor teaching employment
discrimination and negotiation in the graduate school and
the College of Law at the University of Cincinnati. He also
teaches negotiation at Ohio State and in the MBA program at
Otterbein College. In recognition of his outstanding contributions,
the Ohio State Bar Association's Legal Education Committee
will honor Jim with its Friend of Legal Education Award at
5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8 in Dayton. (Learn

| Campaign to Fund Buckeye Barrister Club Launched |
If the Moritz College can raise $2.2 million by the request for proposal deadline of May 15, a Moritz alumni club will be added to the building that will house law student apartments at
11th Avenue and High Street. A center for lunches and evening events, the club will encourage student alumni interaction and provide a venue in which the natural evolution of mentoring relationships can flourish. (Learn more) |
