Andrew Weaver

Andrew Weaver '02 for Outstanding Recent Alumnus/a given to an individual who has graduated from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law within the past 10 years whose accomplishments exemplify outstanding professionalism or loyalty to the college community.

Andrew Weaver is counsel based in the New York office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. Andrew's representative experience includes Nortel Networks Corp. in litigation related to the sale of its wireless infrastructure assets through a bankruptcy auction to Ericsson for $1.13 billion. Additionally, he won dismissal of claims brought by Bulgartabac Holding AD against the new government of Iraq.

He also has represented Goldman Sachs, Citigroup Inc., and Bank of America Corp. in securities litigation relating to a Tyco subsidiary, and he has represented Deutsche Bank, UBS, LAN Airlines, and Fresh Del Monte in complex commercial litigation. In addition, he has represented clients in a variety of internal and regulatory investigations.

Weaver joined Cleary Gottlieb in 2003 and became counsel in 2011. He received a Juris Doctor, cum laude and Order of the Coif, from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2002 and an undergraduate degree, departmental honors and Phi Beta Kappa, from the College of Wooster in 1997. From 2002 to 2003, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
