‘National conversation’ on politics comes to Ohio State

 

The Ohio State University will be an epicenter for election law and political reform discussions this fall, leading up to and including The Commission on Political Reform’s National Conversation on American Unity.

The third in a series presented by the Bipartisan Policy Center, the National Conversation on American Unity will convene former elected officials, community, business, and public service leaders for a town hall meeting. Their discussion will examine current barriers to participation in elective politics and analyze how polarization is discouraging citizens of all ages from engaging in our democratic process.

Do Partisan Primaries Serve the Public Interest?
A COMPAS Conversation, co-sponsored by the Bipartisan Policy Center, will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 26.

Fixing American Democracy: The Quandaries of Political Reform
The Ohio State University offers interdisciplinary perspectives on a new book by Bruce Cain, Fixing American Democracy: The Quandaries of Political Reform, from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 27. The event is co-sponsored by Ohio State’s Center for the Study of Democracy and the Mershon Center for International Studies. Register here.

The Commission on Political Reform’s National Conversation on American Unity
