Entrepreneurial Business Law Journal Hosts First Symposium on Venture Capital Communities
Wondering where the next Silicon Valley will be located? The Entrepreneurial Business Law Journal will host "Location, Luck, or the Law: Why Some Venture Capital Communities Flourish" on Friday, March 17, 2006. The symposium will feature expert panelists from the legal practice, business sector, and academia presenting their theories on why venture capital flourishes in some cities and fails in others. Speakers will focus on corporate law throughout the country and internationally, with special attention to Ohio corporate law and state-sponsored opportunities for new businesses. The symposium will provide attorneys with helpful tools to counsel clients with issues such as alternative investments, venture capital, emerging companies, and initial public offerings.

Ohio Supreme Court Oral Argument Transcripts
The Ohio Supreme Court announced earlier this month that it will begin to close-caption all of its oral argument broadcasts. This advancement means that for the first time an unofficial transcript of all Court oral arguments will be available. Later this year, the Court will make these transcripts available in a searchable online database. Video of Ohio Supreme Court arguments is currently available here.
Washington Post Votes Database
The Washington Post Votes Database lets users browse every vote in the U.S. Congress since 1991. Researchers can browse in several different ways, including by state, members, and vote margins. The database has incorporated RSS technology, so users can get voting information from any congressional member sent via RSS feed and can get a feed from the most recent votes.
American Law Sources Online
American Law Sources Online (ALSO) has compiled a well organized collection of links to freely available primary and secondary legal resources for federal and state law. It includes case law, statutes, local ordinances, administrative code, forms, research guides, and more. Links to some Mexican and Canadian sources are also available.
