Alumni Return 2003: It's All About Friendship
For Alumni Return 2003, we thought we'd shake things up a bit. Our usual quinquennial system of having all reunion classes back to the College during the same weekend will be retooled for 2003. The University has altered its football ticket allocation system and we have been assigned two weekends for reunion festivities.
The 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th and 50th reunion classes will go first: on Friday, September 12 and Saturday, September 13. We'll take advantage of the milder weather, which should be perfect for the North Carolina State game on Saturday. The Friday night activities will be more relaxed this year. As we ease into the weekend with some wine and lovely hors d'oeuvres, we'll pose for group photos in the Grand Ballroom. Next, the alumni awards ceremony has a new format, shining the spotlight on just one award—the Distinguished Alumnus Award—allowing us to focus our appreciation on that special person. Lastly, we've lengthened our time at dinner, so we can have as much time as possible to visit with one another without hurrying to the next activity. Committee chair Frank Bazler has special dinner, tailgate, and brunch plans for the class of 1953; we'll brief you on details as they become available.
For the 5th, 10th and 15th reunion classes, we've been assigned the weekend of the Michigan State game—Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8. Our tentative plan is to gather on Friday evening for a reception, dinner, the latest in electronic games for the technologically gifted among us and visiting with one another at the Buckeye Hall of Fame Café. Late Friday evening is free for visiting old haunts and favorite nightspots.More details will follow in future issues of This Month @ Moritz.
