2006 Spring Hooding Ceremony

Ray Persons '78, the recipient of the 2005-2006 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Moritz College of Law Alumni Society, was the speaker during the annual Moritz College of Law Hooding Ceremony on May 12 at Mershon Auditorium on the campus of The Ohio State University.
More than 260 students participated in the ceremony. Aaron Joseph Mortensen, Mission Viejo, Calif., received the Moritz Leadership award for the Class of 2006, awarded to a student for demonstrating leadership outside of the classroom by involvement in university and college activities, student programs, and events.
Cherish Leigh Cronmiller, Columbus, received the Harry S. and Georgina Lett Memorial Award, a warded to students demonstrating outstanding service to the Moritz College and made possible through the Harry S. and Georgina Lett Memorial Award Fund.
Wesley Karl Duncan, Sonora, Calif., and Leslie Elizabeth Siegel, Gahanna, each received the John J. Adams Memorial Award. This award was established by the Class of 1916 in memory of John J. Adams, former dean of the Moritz College of Law and is given to students for leadership in and significant contributions through law-related activities within the College of Law.
The Dean's Special Award, presented to a graduating student to honor outstanding leadership and contributes to the college, went to Carly Allison Hammond, Blacklick.
The class also recognized Malik Faiswal Alawy, a member of the class who died during their first year. They presented the class gift, more than $700 to the Loan Repayment Assistance Fund, in memory of Malik.
