Nestled within one of the country’s most comprehensive research universities, Moritz has one of the smallest enrollments of comparable colleges and therefore can boast small class sizes and Personalized attention. You’ll receive the one-on-one attention you deserve in law school while Relishing in the resources available at one of the world’s premiere universities.
You’ll learn from diverse, internationally recognized faculty who are experts on countless legal issues; these scholars are continually cited in legal briefs, and they wrote some of the textbooks you’ll study. Faculty are regularly called upon by national media, serve on legal reform commissions, help draft model statutes, and provide testimony before Congress.
Each year more than 98 percent of graduates report employment within nine months after graduation. We have one of the highest placement rates in the country. And you can connect with our more than 9,000 alumni who are working in all 50 states and around the world.
You won’t be buried up to your eyebrows in debt upon graduation. At Moritz, a large percentage of students receive scholarships from the College. In addition, most of our students are able to qualify for in-state tuition rates by their second year.
Academics
Ohio State law students have a rich array of courses from which to choose, including a curriculum of more than 145 second- and third-year electives. Due to the College’s size and culture, students and faculty build strong intellectual and personal ties. Our extraordinary teachers and scholars have chosen Moritz – and Moritz has chosen them – because they have a talent and a passion for teaching, combined with a sophisticated command of their disciplines. Their involvement in research, writing and policy-making translates into fresh, lively instruction in the classroom and prepares students to practice at the highest levels of the legal profession.
Joint Degree Programs
Students can choose from a variety of joint-degree programs, including the JD and Master’s of Public Administration from Ohio State’s Glenn School of Public Affairs. The JD-MPA degrees can be finished in three years and with no additional tuition over a law degree. Others combine a law degree with an MBA, MD, or MPH, and students are also able to join a JD with any of Ohio State’s 100-plus master’s programs and 90 Ph.D. programs.
