Early Decision Option

The early decision option allows students seeking admission to apply early and receive a decision in mid-December. This option was created for those applicants whose first choice is Moritz, or those who need a decision early due to personal and/or professional obligations. Applicants applying in the early decision option are reviewed using the same criteria as general admissions and are given no advantages over general admission applicants.

Students applying for early decision will either be admitted, denied (not able to enter into the general applicant pool), or deferred for consideration in the general applicant pool. The early decision option is a binding contract between the applicant and Moritz that requires the applicant to withdraw applications with all other law schools.

Students seeking admission to The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law for the 2010-11 academic year through Early Decision must submit a signed Early Decision Agreement PDF and an application for admission no later than November 27, 2009, and all supporting materials for the application must be completed on or prior to December 4, 2009 (this includes your LSDAS report, resume, personal statement, letters of recommendation). The agreement may be submitted only in this manner:

  • Online by clicking here

Students who are submitting their Application for Admission through the LSDAS may indicate so in Section 1 of the application.

A decision will be reached on Early Decision applications no later than December 23, 2009. Students who are granted admission through Early Decision will be required to withdraw their applications from all other law schools. Students should apply to only one school through the Early Decision process. Students not admitted through Early Decision may either be deferred for consideration in the general applicant pool or denied.

Once an offer of admission is made, a deposit must be submitted in order to reserve a seat in the class. The seat deposit is due by January 20, 2010.
