  • What were you doing prior to entering Moritz College of Law? I was an undergraduate student at the University of Cincinnati.
  • What was your first job out of law school? I worked at a litigation law firm in Lansing, Mich., for two years. I followed that with 22 years on active duty as an Air Force JAG officer with assignments around the world, culminating in a deployment to Afghanistan to lead a team investigating detainee interrogations for the Secretary of Defense. I retired as a full colonel in 2004. For any Moritz graduates who want adventure and the challenging practice of diverse law, this is the job to have, whether for four years or a career.
  • I love working where I am because… it’s the best of the west — mountains, forests, prairie, wildlife, and a great natural resources practice.
  • Ohio State Law was a great choice because… of the professors who emphasized discipline and reality while teaching the law.
