Application Process: Application Fee Waiver
General Guidelines for Application Fee Waiver for Economically Disadvantage Students
The following guidelines apply to applicants who are domestic students applying to the Moritz College of Law. Eligibility for an application fee waiver will be considered upon receipt of one of the following criteria:
- Official letter on institution's letterhead from a postsecondary school official requesting the application fee be waived based on one or more of the following:
- You are an orphan dependent on the state.
- You are an adult dependent on the state.
- You/Your family has suffered an immediate financial calamity (recent loss of employment of a supporting family member, significant casualty loss, etc.)
- Other sources of documentation that can be used in lieu of the above to support a request for waiver of the application fee include the following:
- A copy of your approved LSDAS fee waiver (for tests taken within 12 months of the application date.)
- A letter on official letterhead from agency officials who verify you or your family has qualified for public assistance (based on low income criteria) for the current 12 month period.
- A copy of a 2007-2008 financial aid award letters from another/previous institution which verifies that you qualified for financial aid within the current 12 month period based on a family contribution of:
- not more than $1400 if the student is a dependent senior
- not more than $1800 if the student is a self-supporting college senior
- A copy of your 2007-2008 Pell Grant or Ohio State Grant Eligibility Report from your current or previous institution(s) indicating you have qualified for the maximum Pell Grant ($4,310), and/or OIG ($2,190), or OCOG ($2,496) as an undergraduate. Non-Ohio residents are responsible to provide verification of maximum grant money awarded from his/her own state and certification by a financial aid official of the maximum grant amount that can be awarded.
